FAQ
What is a vote
A vote it a rarest of rare right of a citizen of a country or establishment to choose their leader. Its a
rare and a beautiful idea that gave birth to a system called Democracy. India is the largest Democracy
in the world, we have a right that many countries in the world do not give to their citizens.
One of our most powerful pillars of Democracy - The Election Commission, holds and conducts the elections in
a fair and peaceful manner. Though they bring in new rules and enforce existing regulations to keep the whole
process fair and peaceful, most political parties and voters too misuse the system.
The voters misuse the system, by not selecting candidates who would do good to the community enlarge, but
sell their votes for short sighted deeds. This should be a criminal offense and the greatest sin known to us.
Indeed voting is what differentiates between a CITIZEN and a SLAVE.
Are there counties which do not give voting rights.
There are many countries like UAE, Saudi, China etc which do not
give proper voting rights, or give pseudo voting rights,
and make a mockery of its citizens (slaves). In the middle east
countries most of the wealth is concentrated with the kings
and rulers, which is also happening in our country, that is
another reason why you should vote and change the system.
Why should I Vote
Voting is a rare right, which was envisioned by our forefothers to
abolish dynasties (which sadly our country is becoming one),
abolish corruption, abolish corrupt leaders, prevent selfish and
shortsighted criminals from becoming leaders.
Democracy was a dream, for thousands of years, and a lot of
selfless leaders have lost and sacrificed their lives, for our small
right, which many of us fail to excercise. Its the only chance for
many of us to change to the system.
So shut up and vote.
Do I have to stand in Queue to cast my Vote
Definitely yes, and you should be proud of that, its a priviledge that only a few of the countries in the world have.
YOU choose your OWN leader.
The Election Commission in its part, will be having lot of polling booths to reduce the queue.
If you have stood in a queue to watch a movie, get ticket for a
cricket match, get an autograph from your favourite star,
or have stood in temples or church or mosque to offer your
prayers, then you can definitely stand for 5 to 30 minutes, depending
on your polling booth.
What would be the average wait time in the queue.
It is just 5 to 15 minutes, if you live in a city or town. Its 5 to 30 minutes if you are in a village/town.
What should I take with me, when I am going to vote.
Take your voting card - your election id., if you dont have an election ID, you can take the voters slip that will be
distributed at your door step.
I dont have an election card.
Dont worry, if you have registered with the election commission,
you would get a voters slip before the election, delivered at your
door step, you can take the voters slip to your polling booth.
